Henry Melton is on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ radar.

Although he hasn’t looked like his 2012 self, the year where he burst onto the scene and made the Pro Bowl, many teams will be interested in Henry Melton, who still has a future in this league at 28 years old. After tearing his ACL in 2013, Melton’s stock went down, but the Dallas Cowboys were extremely happy to bring him in. Melton had worked with Rod Marinelli from their days together with the Chicago Bears. In fact, under Marinelli’s tutelage, Melton flourished. He was brought into be the 3-technique defensive tackle, but Tyrone Crawford emerged at the position and that really left Melton without a job.

Towards the end of his tenure in Dallas, Melton was really used a defensive tackle who would only play on passing downs. Despite his bad year in 2014 with the Cowboys, one team who has significant interest in Melton is the

. Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reported that the Bucs are bringing Melton in for a visit. Auman also reported that Melton played the best football of his career when he was a member of the Bears when Lovie Smith was the head coach there.

Considering his stock is down right now, as he hasn’t been an impact player since the 2012 NFL season, the Bucs could potentially sign Melton at a low price. If that is the case, the Bucs will get a defensive tackle who shows the ability to play a different defensive tackle position in multiple fronts. The Bucs arguably have one of the best defensive tackles in Gerald McCoy. By adding Melton next to him, the interior of their defensive line would be even harder to stop.
