The Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in signing DeMarco Murray and their push is pretty aggressive.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars

DeMarco Murray is officially a free agent and the Jacksonville Jaguars are ready to bust out the check book to change that. Dallas allowed their running back to hit the open market and since then there has been a flurry of interest in the All-Pro rusher.

But the Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly making their pitch to DeMarco Murray and they could end up stealing him away while other big name clubs are chasing him down.

According to Adam Caplan from ESPN, the Jacksonville Jaguars are targeting DeMarco Murray and are making their pitch to him on Tuesday night.

Murray has been linked to a few different teams now that he’s officially a free agent and only one of them is Dallas. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles all have interesting links to Murray and all have the means to sign him.

Ditto with the Jaguars, who lack a running game and could use a franchise back like DeMarco Murray to be a stud on their offense. In the franchise’s history, there have been just two running backs in 20 years to have an impact on the team, and both Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew are retired.

Adding Murray would be a steal for the Jaguars, as they’ve already added Julius Thomas and the pair would rejuvenate the Jacksonville offense. Of course, it’s a hard pitch for the Jaguars to make but there could be something interesting about watching Murray sign with the Jaguars if that indeed happens.
