There was also a report during the start of the NFL Free Agency period that the Cowboys and Murray had not had open dialogue in a week, but now that has seemingly changed.
According to a report fromĀ Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan, DeMarco Murray met with Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett privately during last nightās game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center.
Murray had previoiusly told the media he was just there to enjoy the game.
However, Fisher says the private meeting took place and it is expected to continue.
Last season, DeMarco Murray was the NFLās leading rusher and he managed to set Cowboys franchise rushing records.
He is certainly a valuable asset to the offense, but there are a number of teams around the league that could also swoop in and attempt to steal him from Dallas. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
If Murray does leave the Cowboys, the team could target a player like Todd Gurley or Melvin Gordon in the first-round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
