DeMarco Murray Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles still interested?
By Josh Hill
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Ryan Mathews to a three-year deal on Wednesday, but that doesn’t kill their chances of signing DeMarco Murray.
Even tough the Philadelphia Eagles have locked in Ryan Mathews to a three-year contract, there is still hope that the team can land prized free agent DeMarco Murray.
The Eagles were rumored to be in on Murray yesterday when he hit the market, but they were hardly the only team to have him on their radar. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and even the Dallas Cowboys are hoping they can land Murray and the Eagles are apparently still among that group.
According to Adam Schefter from ESPN.com, the Eagles signing Ryan Mathews may not mean the end of the pursuit
It’s highly unlikely that the Eagles are going to land Murray but there is still a chance that they could. That’s all Eagles fans need, as the Chip Kelly offseason of 2015 hasn’t been the most faith building of offseasons and things need to change.
Of course, the Eagles claim to know what they’re doing, and adding in another running back — even if it’s DeMarco Murray — is a it of a stretch at this point. Chip Kelly is mad, and adding Murray to please the fan base is absolutely not his agenda at the moment.
