The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly searching for a replacement at running back, with belief they will lose star rusher DeMarco Murray to Philadelphia.

It would appear that DeMarco Murray will remain in the NFC East. Unfortunately for Dallas Cowboys fans, it will be with the rival Philadelphia Eagles.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who previously reported Murray was expected to sign in Philadelphia, the Cowboys are now looking at other running backs on the market after conceding they will lose Murray to the Eagles.

DeMarco Murray is currently visiting the Eagles with his wife and a contract is expected to be finalized later today. Murray will provide the Eagles with a quality replacement for LeSean McCoy, who the team previously traded traded away to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, will need to find a replacement for the league’s leading rusher. The good news for Dallas is that they still have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

Free agent running back C.J. Spiller is a name that has previously been linked to the Dallas Cowboys. Spiller was released from the Bills after the team acuired McCoy from Philadelphia, so the running back carousel could continue.

Another option for Dallas would be to turn to the 2015 NFL Draft for a replacement where they could potentially land Todd Gurley of Georgia or Wisconsin star Melvin Gordon.
