John Cena admits WWE is for 6-10 year olds, he wouldn’t watch it

John Cena recently confirmed something that we have all known for quite some time now, that WWE is not for the adults anymore

For the most part, although they will remain fans no matter what, adults are generally not happy with the direction WWE is going, and they haven’t been happy with it for quite some time. With John Cena still at the top pulling the same act that he has been for the better part of a decade, the main concern is that WWE is only pandering to the kids with their PG environment.

Well, now that can be confirmed by the man himself.

With WWE’s project with The Flintstones set to be released, John Cena sat down with USA TODAY to talk about show, and at one point, the subject of the adults not being big fans of him was brought up, as it generally is in every interview that he does.

This is where Cena flat-out admitted that the product is for 6-10 year olds, and quite frankly, he probably wouldn’t watch it either.

“I totally get it,” he says. “I don’t necessarily spend my time watching programs that 6- to 10-year-old kids enjoy, so I get the need for different racy comedy and story lines. But at the same time I don’t want to offend anyone in our audience so I do what I do to the best of my ability, and I actually really enjoy being able to be a real-life superhero and an aspirational character both in live entertainment and animation films like Flintstones.

“It gives you a feeling of self-worth at the end of the day,” Cena concludes. “It becomes more than just a job — you feel as if you’re affecting lives and that truly is pretty important.”

Well, now, that’s a little different answer than he usually gives when this subject is brought up. But, he’s not necessarily wrong, the WWE product is garnered towards children.
