Former Saints tight end and new member of the Seattle Seahawks, Jimmy Graham says he just wants to win and that’s all he cares about.
The newest member of the Seahawks, tight end Jimmy Graham, arrived in Seattle on Wednesday to take a physical and thus make his addition to the team official. However, there’s been concerns among Seahawks fans that Graham wasn’t happy about being traded, considering his history with New Orleans and strong words about Drew Brees. He once said the didn’t want to play for any other quarterback and would retire when Brees does.

It appears those fears were unfounded, as a report coming out of Seattle by Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune, has Graham telling reporters via a conference call that he only cares about winning and that he’s more than happy to be on what he called “the best team in the NFL.”
Graham was back in his South Florida home on Thursday fielding questions via phone call from Seattle-area reporters. He said he was 100 percent on board with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and highly motivated to join the team. Graham said that he was on a beach in Florida on Tuesday when he was notified by Saints coach Sean Payton and told that he’d been traded. He said he immediately tried to think of teams that could bring his $40 million contract on board and could only imagine AFC bottom feeders such as the Raiders and Jaguars.
As soon as Payton informed Graham that his new team was the Seahawks, the three-time Pro Bowler immediately started grinning.

Graham went on to say that he was impressed with Carroll’s knowledge of his history. Carroll reportedly even called just about every person in Graham’s life to get an idea of what made him tick. As for Graham’s new number, that hasn’t been determined yet, but Graham mentioned 88 as he knows 80 is retired for the Seahawks Hall of Famer Steve Largent.
Carroll also had enthusiastic things to say about Graham, according to 710 ESPN Seattle, calling him “bright, competitive, likeable and well-rounded.” The coach had his own version of calming the fans down too, saying that Seattle was going to love Graham and everything he brings to the table.
It definitely seems like Graham is more than ready to get his career started in Seattle.
