5 teams that can stop LeBron from winning a title in Cleveland
By Brad Rowland
Minnesota Timberwolves
This one seems comical, and I fully understand that. The Wolves are currently sitting with the worst record in the Western Conference at 14-49, and even with the explanation of a rash of injuries to their core players, Minnesota has been unimpressive when fully healthy.
Minnesota also has Andrew Wiggins.
The 2014 number one pick just turned 20 years old, and Wiggins is the runaway leader in the Rookie of the Year race. It is fair to suggest that he isn’t a superstar yet, but Wiggins is firmly number one on the list of the players in line to be the “next big thing” in the NBA. In a star-driven league, that likely indicates that Minnesota will be force to be reckoned with in the coming years.
Cleveland and Minnesota will be linked forever with the “what if” scenarios surrounding the Kevin Love-Andrew Wiggins trade. That fact is undeniable, but even if we look past that on the list of things that could get in Cleveland’s path toward a title, the Wolves possess a legitimate superstar in the making to go along with a perfect facilitator (Ricky Rubio) with another lottery pick on the way in 2015.
It may be a few years, but LeBron and Wiggins will probably face off and it will be a lot of fun.
