The St. Louis Rams announced they signed former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley.

The Detroit Lions defensive line just took another hit, with the St. Louis Rams announcing they’ve signed Nick Fairley. The Lions also lost Ndamukong Suh to the Miami Dolphins in free agency.

The announcement came at a press conference for quarterback Nick Foles, who was brought in via a trade that included former No. 1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford.

That means Fairley will play alongside young defensive line stud Aaron Donald. Possibly not as formidable as his former partnership in Detroit with Suh, but still a scary defensive line nevertheless.

And what might be even more surprising, is that the Rams got Fairley on a relatively affordable deal. On the hook for just one year.

The Lions did acquire Haloti Ngata from the Baltimore Ravens to replace the departed Suh, and now that Fairley has left too that means they’re still going to need to look for some replacements.
