Iowa State was able to come back on Saturday night and claim the Big 12 Tournament title from the Kansas Jayhawks
Once again this year in the regular season the Kansas Jayhawks were the kings of the Big 12 Conference in basketball. With that, it seemed they were poised to take the Big 12 Tournament crown. However, on Saturday, Iowa State had other ideas.
For a good amount of time in this one it did indeed look as if Kansas was ready to take it all. But a 17-2 run in the second half that the Cyclones went on helped them secure the win, as well as the Big 12 Tournament championship for 2015.
The strides that this Iowa State team has made under the direction of Fred Hoiberg is nothing short of amazing, and to cap it all off with this win on Sunday was rather spectacular. It was just another sign that this program isnāt going anywhere, anytime soon, and they proved they could go head-to-head with anyone in the conference.
Now, it will be interesting to see where Kansas gets seeded on Sunday after the loss.
Here is a look at how the 2015 Big 12 Tournament played out this week.
