Ejections during Blazers-Pistons for headbutting (video)

Dear Shawne Williams and Joel Freeland, that’s now how you’re supposed to use your heads.

The Detroit Pistons have lost nine straight games, and their frustrations were at a season-high last night while the Portland Trail Blazers dominated them.

The Blazers defeated the Pistons 118-99 in Portland last night, and things got ugly during the last minute of the game.

Meyers Leonard of Portland pushed Detroit’s Shawne Williams in the back while the Pistons were in transition, and Williams needed to let him know that he didn’t appreciate it. After Williams said a few kind words to Leonard, Joel Freeland of the Blazers came to his teammates aid and that’s when things got bad. Williams decided to headbutt Freeland, and Freeland was more than happy to return a headbutt his way, too.

Ejections were given to each player and they could also face further punishment such as a fine or suspension.

The two players only played a combined seven minutes with a total of zero points, so losing them didn’t mean much to either team.

Williams, the person who started this all, has already played for three teams this year – and the Pistons have lost all nine games since he has joined their team.

Coincidence?
