Fantasy Football Quarterback Sleeper 2015 – EJ Manuel
What can we expect out of third year QB EJ Manuel? There are a lot of questions surrounding the first round pick from Florida State, and we’re not even sure if he’ll be the starting QB in 2015. With that said, the Buffalo Bills have been very active this off-season, adding a number of explosive players to the offensive side of the ball. If EJ Manuel is able to beat Matt Cassel for the starting gig, he could be a solid sleeper at the QB position. We’ll give you 4 reasons to consider EJ Manuel for your fantasy football draft in 2015.
1. LeSean McCoy – The biggest addition for the Buffalo Bills this off-season is Pro-Bowl running back LeSean McCoy. At only 26 years old, McCoy is one of the top RB’s in the entire NFL despite a mediocre year in 2014. Defenses will be forced to crowd the box to slow down McCoy in 2015, which will give EJ Manuel more throwing lanes and opportunities to make big plays.
2. Percy Harvin – One of the most explosive and athletically gifted players in the entire NFL, Percy Harvin will give the Bills offense a much needed spark. Although there are plenty of concerns with his ability to stay healthy for an entire season, there is no question about his talent. Defenses will have to respect the Jet-Sweep every time Percy goes in motion, and I’m confident that he’ll break at least a few screen passes for a TD next year.
3. 2014 was a learning year – Although Kyle Orton isn’t a future hall-of-fame Quarterback, he’s a solid QB who has a lot of experience playing in the NFL. EJ Manuel had the benefit of learning under Orton last year, which should help with his development as an NFL quarterback.
4. Potential – Let’s not forget that EJ Manuel was the first QB taken off the board in the 2013 NFL draft with the 16th pick. Manuel has a lot of talent, he’s a big guy (6’5″ 240 lbs), has good speed (4.59 40-yd dash), and has impressive arm strength. And it’s not like he’s bombed in the NFL! To-date, Manuel has 16:12 TD:INT ratio with a Rating of 78.5.
E.J Manuel will probably not be your starting fantasy QB in 2015, but he could be a solid backup. At the very least, Manuel is an interesting Dynasty QB and someone to keep your eye on as your draft approaches.
