The Kentucky Wildcats have moved to 32-0 after yesterday’s win against the Florida Gators in the SEC tournament, but the Gators hung around for a long time and John Calipari explained what would have happened if the Wildcats didn’t get it together.
John Calipari is one of the most polarizing figures in college basketball, but there is one thing everyone should be able to appreciate and love about him – his candid remarks whenever he talks about his team.

Kentucky won their first game in the SEC tournament 64-49 against Florida, but it didn’t go as smoothly as the score might lead to believe.
The Gators came out inspired – just like every team that faces Kentucky – and had an early lead and were only down four at the half. It was still a good game for most of the second half, but the Wildcats simply pulled away late like they so often do.
That’s what makes this Kentucky team so great – their depth. Teams can often give them a good game for a half or a little longer, but they always separate themselves in the final minutes. It’s just hard to keep up with all that fresh talent with Kentucky’s platoon system.
One of the best things about Kentucky is watching Calipari talk during interviews, and it’s because he always gives you something to talk about. He’s an entertaining man.
If the Wildcats are going to suffer a “L” anytime soon, it had better be in the SEC Tournament rather than the actual big dance.
Kentucky will be in action again today at 1 p.m. eastern against the Auburn Tigers in the SEC semifinals.
