All athletes are taught to show great sportsmanship as they grow up, but who doesn’t love a little bit of showmanship from time to time? Arizona’s Rondae Hollis-Jefferson sure enjoys himself some showmanship.
Hollis-Jefferson is a sophomore for the Wildcats and has been a huge part to their season, as he has averaged 10.9 points (51 percent shooting) and 6.8 rebounds this year. In 35 minutes against Oregon Saturday night, Hollis-Jefferson finished with seven points (43 percent shooting), nine rebounds, five assists and one hilarious moment.
The game was nearing its end, and Hollis-Jefferson felt the need to celebrate the victory a little early after he threw down a nice dunk.
The shimmy after the slam? Yes, please.
Some people will get upset with what Hollis-Jefferson did, and that’s understandable to a point, but there will also be a lot of people who enjoy the showmanship and entertainment.
Arizona is hoping to get a top seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament as they finished with a remarkable regular season resume, but a second seed is still possible for the Wildcats. Regardless of their seeding, they are going to be a scary team once the tournament starts.
