Kermit the Frog introduced the Los Angeles Clippers (Video)

The Los Angeles Clippers are in the middle of a playoff hunt, but they’re resorting to late season gimmicks of a team that has long been out of the race.

Kermit The Frog isn’t the first thing you think of when you think of the Los Angeles Clippers — or basketball, for that matter — but he’s forever intertwined with Blake Griffin’s return to the lineup. That’s because Kermit the Frog introduced the Clippers on Sunday afternoon and it was both intense, hilarious and ridiculous all at the same time.
For the Clippers game on Sunday afternoon, the return of Blake Griffin was marked by Kermit The Frog doing the player introductions.
Blake Griffin coming back was a big deal — Kermit the Frog losing his sh-t over it was an unexpected treat. Who knew that Kermit stayed up to date with the Clippers so intensely, that when announcing Griffin’s name he could lose his mind the way he did.
This is late season gimmickry at it’s best, as the Clippers are going to make the playoffs and fans are saving their coin for those tickets when they go on sale. This was a cute idea, and it was oddly kind of cool, but it’s a sure-fire sign that we’re in the last stretch of the NBA season when things start to get boring.
