The March Madness is upon us, and Northern Iowa learned that they’re a No. 5 seed in the East region.
The March Madness bracket was unveiled on Selection Sunday, and Northern Iowa learned who they will be playing this upcoming week. Many experts were high on Northern Iowa coming into Selection Sunday, and while some believe they were under-seeded, Northern Iowa pulled off a No. 5 seed in the East Region.
You can’t peg a sleeper tag on a team before the entire bracket is unveiled, but that’s what Northern Iowa seems to be as an under-seeded No. 5 team in the East. It’s going to be interesting to see if they can get out of the first weekend of the tournament, but right now it appears things favor Northern Iowa going gone a run
Needless to say, fans were pretty happy with the sleeper seeding when it was announced.

Northern Iowa with the 5 seed!
Thought they would get higher, but hey.
Northern Iowa is really good and can score. Nova can score in the 90s. Louisville has a shot though

Northern Iowa is a scary team to watch in March Madness, and they’re a team who could come in and bust brackets for those who are picking off prestige and not talent this season.
