After Tiger Woods was the face of EA SPORTS PGA TOUR video game series for several years, he has been replaced by current golfing sensation Rory McIlroy.

Tiger Woods hasn’t won a major in quite some time. He has also missed cuts of tournaments and has dealt with lingering back issues. Tiger just hasn’t been the Tiger everyone used to watch on the golf course and it’s unclear if the Tiger that dominated every tournament will ever return.

One player that has been winning majors and taking golf by storm over the last few years is golfer Rory McIlroy.

He has won majors and has become one of the new faces of the next generation of golf.

With EA SPORTS aiming to appeal their golf series to a wider audience, they have replaced Tiger Woods, who was the face of the video game series for years, with Rory McIlroy.

In their tweet, EA even brands it as the next generation of golf.

While Tiger playing well brings in the ratings and drives up fan interest, EA is hitching their wagon to the golfer who is lighting it up on the fairway every weekend.

Tiger Woods may have been the face of the EA franchise in the past, but now the torch has been passed to Rory McIlroy.
