Emma Thompson, Kevin Kline cast in ‘Beauty And The Beast’

Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline have been cast in the upcoming live action Beauty and the Beast film.

With Disney trying to squeeze a few more millions of dollars by rehashing their old movies and dressing them up with new people, fans can expect a whole lot of live action going on in a couple of years. Coming off the heels of films like Snow White and the Huntsman as well as Jack the Giant Slayer, the media powerhouse has decided to create a live action Beauty and the Beast.

News was announced recently that women’s rights activist and former wizard babe Emma Watson would be headlining as Belle with Dan Stevens as the titular Beast.

Well, fans will be delighted to hear that the film will also include the talent of Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline. They will be portraying Mrs. Potts and Lumiere respectively.

Their first name isn’t the only thing the two Emma’s share with one another. Having worked together before on the Harry Potter series, fans should look forward to the chemistry between the two as Thompson portrays the motherly Mrs. Potts.

Kline will be taking the role of Lumiere by the horns (or should I say by the candle). With Tony Award-winning actor in the role, this leads many to suspect that there might be a fair amount of singing and dancing in this production (which if you have seen Kline as the Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance would be totally awesome).

Directing the film will be Bill Condon. A veteran of musical movies, you would recognize his work in Oscar Award winning Chicago and Dreamgirls.

Beauty and the Beast is slated to be released on March 17, 2017.
