Arsenal defeated Monaco 2-0 to win on the night but like previous years, crash out on the away goals rule. Here is the reaction from Twitter.
Arsenal once again came short of the one goal that would have taken them through to the quarterfinals.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey brought on a nervous last 10 minutes for Monaco but the French side eventually came through and progressed.
Monaco went through 3-3 courtesy of the away goals rule and will now join the likes of Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG and FC Porto in the last eight of the competition.
Here are the thoughts and reaction of Twitter to the game:
Pre-game with many people hoping for a miracle in Monaco

Olivier Giroud’s goal in the first half
Bono, what you make of that Giroud goal?

"WOAH-OH-WOAH! The sweetest thing!"
What a tremendous finish from Giroud & with his weaker foot too

Incredible goal by Giroud. He really is a top quality striker. 15th of the season. 7 goals in his last 8. #Class

Post match reaction
Why are so many Arsenal fans so forgiving of our endless failure? Be tougher, demand better, want more. Or we may as well be Spurs. #afc
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 17, 2015
Best team lost. Arsenal out on away goals & at the last 16 stage again. Going out to Monaco is a mystery. #afc

It's so hard to be kicked out of the #ucl after such a result and such a game ... #MONvAFC
— Mesut Özil (@M10) March 17, 2015
The flip side of that result is that we are in brilliant form, 13 wins from the last 15 games is insane. Giroud with 7 goals in his last 8.
