The Buffalo Bills are fans of Bryce Petty.
Although many believe Bryce Petty can only have success in college and not in the NFL, in this weak quarterback class, Petty will likely be the third or fourth quarterback taken. Despite throwing for over 8,000 yards and 61 touchdowns in the past two years, Petty is coming from a system that hasn’t had a ton of success at the professional level. Mike Mayock, who is one of the best draft evaluators in the world, is a big fan of Petty. He even would go as far as saying Petty is the best natural thrower in this draft class.

Here’s what Lance Zierlein said about Petty and his NFL future.
"“But those same evaluators love his size, leadership and intangibles,” Zierlein wrote. “He needs a year or two of practice time and camp work to learn how to get through his progressions, but has the intelligence to do that. Petty must have a structured offense that won’t ask him to make plays outside of the pocket.” Some believe Petty’s back injury, sustained in September, was more severe than was let on, and may have affected his play. An AFC North area scout told NFL.com during the season: “My grade is a projection based on what I think he can do rather than what he did this year. I think his back was a bigger problem for him than people realize.”"

Considering their quarterback situation, which consists of unproven NFL quarterbacks in Matt Cassel, E.J. Manuel, and Jeff Tuel, the
are a team that is interested in Petty. According to
, the Bills privately worked out with Petty. One thing about Petty is that for him to be his best self, he needs everything to go perfectly. Petty needs coaching, but if the Bills believe he is the guy for the future, then he could very well be their first pick of the draft when they’re first on the clock in the second round of the draft.
