Chris Conley privately worked out with Bill O’Brien
By Ryan Ratty
Chris Conley is a player that intrigues Bill O’Brien.
Before the NFL Scouting Combine, Georgia’s Chris Conley wasn’t a guy that was really talked about. However, after the combine, Conley became known as perhaps the draft’s most athletic prospect. At the combine, Conley turned almost every head watching the event, by running a 4.35 40-yard dash, jumping a combine-record 45-inch vertical, and a combine-record 11’7″ broad jump. By turning heads at the combine, many teams started to review their notes on Conley. Despite his stellar combine, Conley believed that his performance at the NFLPA Bowl was the best thing for him in the pre-draft process.
"“I learned that I can compete with pretty much anyone,” Conley said, according to Rivals. “You have people come around from across the country, guys who were the best in their respective schools, at their respective conferences, and it’s a time to see what peer competition is like. At that point I was able to have some confidence, build some confidence and show some people who aren’t from the Southeast what I’m all about.”"

One team that has been reportedly interested in Conley and his services is the
. Considering the Texans recently released Andre Johnson and they need a receiver or two to help out DeAndre Hopkins and Cecil Shorts, it really doesn’t come as a surprise that the Texans like what they seen in Conley. According to
, Bill O’Brien had a private workout during Georgia’s Pro Day. Here’s what Conley had to say about his meeting with O’Brien.
"“I had a pretty good, almost an hour meeting with him.”"
With the draft less than 45 days away, Conley is a guy that will be getting a ton of buzz. He won’t be an early pick, but Conley could very well go in fifth or sixth round. Despite his stellar combine performance, it would be nice to see Conley produce more on the football field. In Houston, in an offense coached by one of the best offensive minds in the league in O’Brien, Conley may find some success.
