Running back DeMarco Murray thanks Dallas Cowboys fans with a downtown billboard.
Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray decided to split during free agency and accept a very lucrative contract with the Philadelphia Eagles instead. That had fans booing Murray when he was shown on the screen at UFC 185 in Dallas last weekend.
He did try to thank fans in the Cowboys on Twitter before that event.
Words can't express my gratitude towards the Cowboys organization, teammates, coaches, and fans!Forever grateful for the past 4 years! ThankU!

He took it a step further by putting a billboard up downtown thanking the city of Dallas.

It is a nice gesture from Murray.
Makes you wonder why he went with the billboard route when there are much more creative ways to thank fans. He could’ve put a message on the side of the Omni hotel in Dallas, which routinely has messages on it with special colors.

Even One Direction got a nod from the hotel.
Heck, they even put stuff on the famous Reunion Tower ball, but that would be harder to read.
Still, it was a nice gesture but probably won’t do anything to stop boos from raining down on him when he comes back to town in an Eagles uniform.
