Leah Still, daughter of NFL player Devon Still, gets good news in her fight with cancer
On Tuesday, Devon Still and his daughter, Leah Still, received positive and optimistic news on her battle with a rare form of pediatric cancer. Devon Still shared the good news with the Instagram community, celebrating after doctors informed his family that they don’t see any active disease in her body. The news brings a lot of hope that the four-year-old’s battle with pediatric cancer will soon come to the end everyone has been hoping for.
In the Instagram photo, Devon Still wrote:
“That moment you get the best news you’ve ever received and don’t know what to do so you just flex!! We got Leah’s MIBG Scans back tonight and the doctors told us they didn’t see any active disease in her body!!! We still have to wait for her MRI and bone biopsy results later this week. But the doctors feel very optimistic about them because of the results from today. So for now we celebrate!! #LeahStrong #PrayersWork #ThankYouEveryOne #ImSoHappyIFeelNumb #BeatCancer”
Last June, Leah was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma. Ever since then, she has gone through numerous surgeries in an attempt to remove a cancerous tumor in her stomach. She also received chemotherapy and stem-cell treatments.
With her chance of survival previously listed at 50-50, Leah is showing lots of improvement. This has led to optimistic thoughts on her battle from both her family and the doctors. The family will find out whether or not all of the cancer has left her body later this week.
Last year, Devon Still was added to the Cincinnati Bengals‘ 53-man roster. He was originally cut from the team after training camp, but was signed to their practice squad just days after. When Week 2 strolled along, he was activated into their 53-man roster. He played 12 games with the team last year, recording a total of 19 tackles.
Still is currently not under contract. The team has offered him a one-year contract, but it is still being considered by Still. He is working to make the best decision for himself and his family.
