Report: Osi Umenyiora visiting New York Jets
Former New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Osi Umenyiora is back in New York and visiting the Jets according to reports.
The New York Jets are having quite the off-season. The team hired their new head coach Todd Bowles, who helped turn the Arizona Cardinals into a dominant defense, and the team brought back Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie.

The Jets also acquired receiver Brandon Marshall from the Chicago Bears to add to their receiving core alongside Eric Decker.
With the Jets having a formidable defense and lots of talent on both sides of the ball, the team is looking to compete in an AFC East Division that has gotten stronger in free agency.
With Bowles liking to use a blitz heavy scheme, he needs capable defensive backs in his system. The Jets did that with the additions of Revis, Cromartie and the team also signed Buster Skrine to add to the secondary which features last year’s first-round pick Calvin Pryor.
To get after the quarterback, the Jets blitz happy defense will need pass rushers.
According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, the team has one in reportedly for a visit.
The Jets are looking at former Giants and Falcons defensive end Osi Umenyiora.
Umenyiora had a very successful tenure with the Giants where he won two Super Bowls.
He also had three seasons of 11.5 or more sacks, including one year where he had 14.5.
While his production tailed off in Mike Nolan’s defense in Atlanta, perhaps he could find his pass rushing ways again in New York.
Bowles will run a system that’s about getting after the quarterback, and if the team does decided they want Umenyiora, he might be a good fit.
Umenyiora is on the older side at 34 and might not have much left in the tank, but at this point the Jets might think it’s at least worth a look.
At this time of the year, anything is.
