WWE WrestleMania Rumors: Brock Lesnar to retain World Heavyweight title

There are rumors that Brock Lesnar will keep his WWE World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 31 when he takes on Roman Reigns.

WrestleMania is less than two weeks away, and WWE fans all over are trying to figure out what is going to happen. It always surprises me that wrestling fans try to figure out what is going to happen or would like to find out before watching it, doesn’t that take the fun out of watching.

But still, there are some Reddit users who have gone out on a limb to to provide spoilers and insider details about upcoming WWE events. One of whom is a Reddit user by the name of MetsFan4Ever.

This guy has a track record that gives him some credibility, so when he speaks it is worth paying attention to. He details how the title matches will unfold over the course of the event, and says Brock Lesnar will retain his WWE World Heavyweight title, which he is slated to defend against Roman Reigns.

Reddit user MetsFan4Ever wrote:

"After talking to a few people today at the SmackDown tapings word going around is that Brock Lesnar is very close to agreeing on a new contract with the WWE. With the lack of popularity that Roman Reigns has received as of late, Triple H is pushing Vince on the idea of keeping the WWE Championship on Brock. This would also have huge ramifications with two of the under card matches on the show.If Brock retains the title it would in all likelihood mean a continued “special attraction schedule” for him. Triple H as of late has been big on the idea that the I.C. Title and the U.S. Title should mean something again. The plan, if Brock retains is to put the U.S. Title on John Cena and the I.C. Title on Daniel Bryan. The theory would be that two legit Superstars would bring legitimacy to both titles. Also, while Brock is gone both men can main event Raw, Smackdown, PPVs and house shows with those titles on top of the card. Which again, would bring back the legitimacy of both belts.A lot can change between now and WrestleMania. But this is just one of the many ideas that are being discussed. I have not been told of any other ideas, but if I hear more, I will be sure to pass the information along to this great community."

It makes logical sense when you process it. Fans have clamored for a long time that those lesser title belts have lost value and it is one of my main gripes personally.

Putting those belts on John Cena and Daniel Bryan would make things very interesting and it seems like a logical plan to steer the ship in the right direction. The issue being that the division fighting for that belt isn’t as solid.

Back in the attitude era you had people like Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit fighting for the intercontinental belt. The roster was divided into superstars by belt somewhat like actual combat sports. The WWE in reality needs to cut out the hour of replays and nonsense they show and focus on the storylines and building those divisions instead of putting it on the back burner.

There have been rumors that Lesnar as looking to do a deal that would allow him to compete in both the UFC and WWE simultaneously. That is where this potential spoiler gets interesting. Is Lesnar not going to return to the UFC, or has Vince backed down and Lesnar will be allowed to compete in both.
