Cincinnati’s Octavius Ellis is a solid player, but the junior had an awful moment against Purdue in the second round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
Ellis threw a blatant cheap shot at Purdue’s A.J. Hammons in the second half of the contest, which earned him an ejection.

Yeah, you can’t do that.
One hates to see a player get ejected in surely one of the biggest games of his life, but the punishment was absolutely deserved for Ellis.
It’s also obviously a tough break for Cincinnati in the midst of their comeback effort against a tough Purdue squad.
Ellis averaged 10.0 points (57.8 percent shooting from the field), 7.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season.
