HA HAA! Gus Johnson’s top 10 calls
UCLA vs. Gonzaga
Didn’t I say we’d be seeing Adam Morrison again in this slideshow?
In the 2006 NCAA tournament, the Bulldogs met up against the UCLA Bruins in the Sweet Sixteen. While the Bruins were ranked higher at number 2 in the West Regional, the Bulldogs had perhaps the best player in the country. Gonzaga held the lead for most of the game, up to 17 in the first half. UCLA never led until the final seconds of the game, defeating the Bulldogs and ending Morrison’s career right there weeping on the floor.
Here’s a little known fact about this game after it cut to Greg Gumbel: as Adam Morrison lay down on the court with his jersey over his face, Gus Johnson strutted right up to him and started yelling right into his jersey. “HA HAA! DID YOU SEE THAT? DID. YOU. SEE. THAT. THIS IS MARCH MADNESS, BABY!”
