HA HAA! Gus Johnson’s top 10 calls
Missouri v. Oklahoma State
Sometimes when Gus Johnson gets on a roll with his announcing, time will appear to slow down.
This is an illision caused by increased blood flow to essential parts of your brain. An excellent example of this occurred in the 2014 Cotton Bowl between the Missouri Tigers and
the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Down by three with a short minute left in the game, Oklahoma State’s Clint Chelt was driving his team down the field when he fumbled the football. Shane Ray’s recovery inspired Johnson to go Gus on us.
Gus Johnson has got to remember to breathe when he makes these calls. That was thirty seconds of hyperventilation punctuated by violent exhales.
The touchdown iced the game for the Tigers, and they were able to beat their former conference rivals in a marquee matchup.
