Denver Broncos v. Cincinnati Bengals

2009 was a weird time to be a Denver Broncos fan. (Actually, the past five years have been a weird time to be a Broncos fan.)

Four things:

  1. That may have been the highlight of Kyle Orton’s career.
  2. Correll Buckhalter!
  3. Josh McDaniels had Kyle Orton and Correll Buckhalter in at the most crucial part of the game.
  4. This may be the fastest we’ve ever seen Johnson go from zero to Gus. “… batted upOHCAUGHT … STOKELEY! DOWN THE SIDELINE! etc.”

The Broncos won the game 12-7, and would eventually start the season at 6-0 before crumbling under the weight of having Josh McDaniels as their head coach. JMD ended up going 5-17 over the course of his next two years, and was promptly kicked out the door, much to the joy of AFC West fans across the board. Kyle Orton meanwhile went on to become the most effective advertisement against mustaches since Adam Morrison.
