Iowa State was the first major victim of March Madness, and their fans that made the trek to Louisville to watch the loss were heartbroken.

The Iowa State Cyclones were projected to make a deep run in March Madness, but that all came to a harsh end on the first day it possibly could. The Cyclones were torched by the UAB Blazers, and brackets everywhere were simultaneously busted.
It was a brutal loss, not in that it was a blow out but that you could see the upset happening and couldn’t do anything expect wish you had made a different pick.
As Iowa State fell to No. 14 seeded UAB, one Cyclones fan pretty much summed up not only how all fans feel but how everyone who just had their bracket busted feels.
Iowa State losing was heartbreaking to more than just their fans, as many had the Cyclones making a deep run in March Madness this year. That all came crashing down in the first weekend — and the first day that Iowa State played.
The good thing about a high seed like Iowa State losing is that it messes up everyone’s bracket, not just yours. Then again, No. 3 seeds losing to No. 14 seeds is pretty uncommon so you can’t be blamed for being tricked into thinking Iowa State was going to go far.
