Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden showed off his defense and dunking ability in the first half against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.

Harden showed off his improved defensive play on Thursday in the first half in Houston’s game against the Denver Nuggets with a nifty steal, which he turned into an easy dunk opportunity for himself.

Take a look at Harden’s impressive play in the video below:

That was far from Harden’s only good play in the half, as he poured in 22 points with seven rebounds and three assists in the game’s first 24 minutes.

Harden has been remarkable all season long and has emerged as one of the few legitimate MVP candidates along with Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and LeBron James. Harden is averaging a whopping 26.7 points (44.2 percent shooting from the field, 37.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc), seven assists and 5.8 rebounds per game this season.
