A look at the action that will be taking place in the second round on Thursday of the NCAA Tournament between Lafayette and Villanova.

FINAL

The NCAA Tournament is all set to get in full swing here for the 2015 season, and all of the action begins on Thursday with the playing of the second round games. We will see the Villanova Wildcats take the floor as the first No. 1 seed to play in the NCAA Tournament and their opponent seems to be ready for them.

Lafayette has the stigma of being a 16-seed, a position in which no team before them has been able to win. There have been close calls and it seems that one day a No. 1 seed will be eliminated in the first-round — but Lafayette might not be the team to bet on.

Still, that would mean discounting their ability to just murder teams with offense, as Lafayette shot 60 percent this season — which is just insane. But that’s where the good times end and reality starts to set in. The Leopards played Top 25 teams in Kansas and West Virginia — losing both games by almost 30-points. Couple that with their poor defensive play and it looks like Villanova will at least survive one game.

The question is how far will they make it past that, as the Wildcats are predicted to be the first No. 1 seed to lose — it just won’t happen against Lafayette.
