The UCLA Bruins started to prove a lot of people wrong on Thursday as they were able to advance on in the 2015 NCAA Tournament by defeating SMU
When the 2015 NCAA Tournament field was announced this past Sunday there were a lot of folks that were a bit upset that not only did the UCLA Bruins get into the field, but they were given the No. 11 seed. Again, there were people that thought they didn’t belong at all, but they figured SMU would make quick work of them on Thursday.
Well, that didn’t really happen. As a matter of fact, not only did SMU not blow UCLA off the court, but the Bruins were actually able to walk away with the win.
The win was not without controversy, though, as UCLA was able to get the go-ahead points with time winding down on a goaltend of a three-pointer by SMU. Well, at least it was called a goaltend…

Either way, that was the call and now the Bruins are advancing.
With that said, here is a look at the NCAA Tournament bracket following the UCLA win.

With the win now, UCLA will advance on to Saturday to take on UAB, who upset Iowa State earlier in the day.
