Kansas Jayhawks’ Kelly Oubre Jr. fails on dunk attempt (Video)
Kelly Oubre had a fine freshman season for the Kansas Jayhawks but he had a moment he’d like to forget in the NCAA Tournament after he missed a dunk attempt.
The Kansas Jayhawks are cruising in the second half in their first game of the NCAA Tournament against No. 15 New Mexico State and a potential matchup with Wichita State looks to be in the works, but it hasn’t been a perfect day for Bill Self’s team.

Just about the only thing that has gone wrong for the Jayhawks this afternoon is when stud freshman Kelly Oubre Jr. took of one stride inside the free throw line and attempted to flush the rock with a thunderous slam dunk to get the Kansas fans in attendance out of their seats.
There’s just one problem with that plan.
Oubre ran into 6-10, 270-pound New Mexico State center Tshilidzi Nephawe and had his dunk rejected by the rim.
It happens to the best of ’em at times, but Oubre hasn’t been too distraught after the humbling moment and is one of Kansas’ leading scorers at time of publishing with eight points with the Jayhawks up 55-41 with 10 minutes remaining in the second half.
