Live scoring updates for New Mexico State vs. Kansas in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
The road to the Final Four officially got underway on Thursday, when the field of 64 teams began their march to the NCAA Men’s Final Four at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Already, there are a few Cinderella teams crashing the party and there is guaranteed to be a few more before all is said and done.
The Kansas Jayhawks do not want to become the next team to fall in what has already been an upset-heavy tournament.

As the number 2 seed in the Midwest Bracket, Kansas comes into the tourney ranked 10th in the nation in the AP Poll and 11th via the coaches poll. The Jayhawks rank 80th in the nation in points per game with 71.2, but struggled defensively by allowing 64.7 points per contest (131st in the nation).
At 26-8, Kansas has a record that is perhaps a bit misleading. They held a 13-5 mark in the Big 12 conference, but we actually fairly vulnerable to ranked teams in 2014-15, dropping five games to ranked opponents, including two to Iowa State who was eliminated on Thursday by #14 seeded UAB and one at the beginning of the season to #1 Kentucky by a margin of 72-40. However, the Jayhawks do own signature wins over the Cyclones, Utah, Baylor, and Texas.
On the other side of the coin, we have the New Mexico State Aggies, who reached the tournament via the WAC championship, beating the Seattle Redhawks to advance to the big dance. In fact, NMSU comes in having won 13 consecutive contests and 18 of their last 20 games, making them red hot right at the right time.
That said, the Aggies are untested on the season, having played only two games against ranked opponents and collecting losses against #11 Wichita State to open the season and #24 Colorado State on December 27th. They rank 167th in the country in scoring, putting up 68.5 points per game offensively, but are an incredible defensive squad, holding opponents to 59.3 points per game.
Kansas will certainly represent a test if the Aggies want to keep that streak rolling. That’s a tall task for a #15 seed facing a #2 in a tournament that doesn’t typically play that kind when facing those odds. But we’ve seen some strange things already, so it may not be totally out of the question either.
The game will be broadcast on CBS at 12:15pm Eastern Time.

Not a ton of flow or rhythm for either side. Kansas with the eight-point lead, not sure if NMSU can shoot well enough to pull upset.

Kansas doing exactly what Big 12 hoped they might -- get off to a solid start in the first game of the day. Keeping NMSU off-kilter early.

Gotta give it to @b_greene14, he just keeps shooting. His shot will eventually comeback.

Also not working: NMSU standing around in a zone, doing nothing. Because Devonte’ Graham hit a three off that, too. Kansas up 32-16.
