West Virginia moved on after winning 68-62 to beat Buffalo who was making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Buffalo tied the game at 62 late but Juwan Staten closed it our for Bob Huggins team in the closing seconds to avoid the upset. Buffalo was one of the popular dark horse picks but I think West Virginia was tired about hearing how they were going to lose for the last few days since the bracket was announced on Sunday evening.
Staten returned to the lineup after missing the previous four games and scored 15 points and a game-high seven assists. West Virginia was led in scoring by Devin Williams who had a game-high 17 points and game-high nine rebounds in the win.
Here’s how the NCAA bracket looks after the West Virginia win.

West Virginia waits to see who they will play on Sunday and will have a close eye on Maryland and Valparaiso later today as they’ll meet the winner of that game in two days with a berth in the Sweet Sixteen on the line.
If Valpo can’t pull off the upset in the game against the Terps and advance to play West Virginia in the third round, who do you think has the advantage? Let us know in the comments section below and how your bracket his holding up on the second full day of March Madness.
