Here’s how the NCAA bracket looks after the Kansas Jayhawks beat New Mexico State in the first game on the second full day of the Tournament.
The No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks are moving to the Round of 32 on Sunday after knocking off No. 15 New Mexico State 75-56 behind 17 points from Frank Mason III.

Mason led Kansas with a game-high 17 points on 6-7 shooting, including a perfect 2-2 from the three-point line and also tied Landon Lucas with a game-high nine rebounds.
Kansas had 10 players score with Perry Ellis adding nine, Kelly Oubre Jr., Jamari Traylor, Brannen Greene and Devonte Graham each had eight and Lucas chipped in with seven as Kansas bested the zone defense of New Mexico State.
A potential matchup awaits with No. 7 Wichita State who faces No. 10 Indiana later today in what could set up a showdown with the two programs in the state of Kansas. The Shockers would love nothing more than to go up against ‘big brother’ who won’t schedule the program from the Missouri Valley Conference and upset them to keep them out of the Sweet Sixteen.
But after an opening day that was chock full with upsets, the Jayhawks didn’t have to sweat it out and cruised to a convincing second round win against an overmatched New Mexico State team.
Kansas shot an impressive 54 percent from the field, including 9-13 from three-point range as they proved to be no match for the Aggies.
Assuming Kansas meets Wichita State on Sunday, who do you think has the advantage in the game and survives to advance to the Sweet 16 and play next week?
