Brian Orakpo on RGIII: ‘I think he’ll turn it around if he can stay healthy’
Brian Orakpo believes that former teammate Robert Griffin III will be able to turn it around if he can stay healthy.
Things haven’t exactly gone as planned for Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III since having an outstanding rookie season in 2012.

In 2012, RGIII appeared in 15 games and threw for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns with just five interceptions as he completed 65.6 percent of his passes. He also added 815 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns on 120 attempts.
Since his tremendous rookie campaign, he suffered multiple serious injuries, including an ACL tear and a dislocated ankle. It has been a major reason why the young quarterback has struggled to regain the form he showed in his rookie year.
Linebacker and former teammate Brian Orakpo, who just signed with the Tennessee Titans a couple of weeks ago, believes that his former quarterback can turn it around if he is able to stay healthy.
"I always tried to stay positive with him when he was handling all that adversity that he was going through. I think he’ll be able to turn it around once he’s able to stay healthy, and [he’ll] prove everybody wrong. And don’t be too much worried about the criticism and the bad stuff that goes around being the quarterback of a big-time franchise like the Redskins. I think it will turn around eventually for him, once he stays healthy and kind of, you know, eliminates all the negativity around him."
Robert’s biggest problem seems to be his confidence. During the past two seasons, he never seemed to seem as poised as he was during his rookie year.
The injuries could have a lot to do with it, as it is impossible for an athlete to feel confident if he is not 100 percent healthy. There is the fact that the injuries directly hinder your playing ability, and there is also the fear of possibly getting re-injured.
If Griffin can finally turn the page on his injury woes and get back to being 100 percent healthy and regain his confidence, we may see the RGIII from 2012 once again.
