Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart might be a little lighter in his wallet moving forward ā and he may have to sit out some games. This is thanks to a nasty nut punch that Smart delivered on Friday night to San Antonio Spurs big man Matt Bonner.
It could have been accidental, but upon further review ā and after checking out man cards ā this is not something that should go unpunished.
You can try to defend this as simple motion of Marcus Smart, but itās pretty obvious that he deliberately punched Matt Bonner in his balls.

You canāt do that ā like, not just in basketball but in life. Punching another man in the nuts is just a giant no-no, as it crosses over into the unspoken bond of man code.
The NBA will probably be calling up Marcus Smart to let him know he either has to pay a fine or has to sit out some games for this little ditty. It may have ben accidental, but you just cannot do that to another man and itās going to cost the Celtics at a time in which they need to win as many games as they can to try and sneak into the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
