The NBA has not taken kindly to Marcus Smart’s very dumb decision to uppercut punch to Matt Bonner’s nuts, and have suspended him one game.

Marcus Smart may be a rookie but he made a mistake that even first-year guys know they can’t make. On Friday night, the Celtics and Spurs went at it, and Smart went after Matt Bonner’s nether region.

That’s something that the NBA hasn’t taken kindly to, and they’ve handed out punishment to Smart to hopefully protect the groins of the players he goes up against in the future.

According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, Marcus Smart will be sitting out one game thanks to his nut punch to Matt Bonner.

It was a brutal foul and it’s one that saw Smart get ejected from the game over. You just don’t go after a man like that — especially when you’re in the middle of a packed stadium that is broadcasting your every move to television sets around the country.
Smart was no doubt dumb for his move to walk Bonner in the nuts, but that’s something he’s going to have to learn from.

Why he has to just now learn in life that you can’t smack another man in the balls is an entirely different issue.
