North Carolina State’s Trevor Lacey beat the first half buzzer against No. 1 seed Villanova on Saturday.
North Carolina State had a dramatic comeback victory on Thursday against No. 9 seed LSU to get to Saturday’s matchup against the No. 1 seed in the East region, the Villanova Wildcats.
It was completed with a BeeJay Anya hook shot which dropped with 0.1 seconds left on the clock to shock the Fighting Tigers. The magic continued through one half Saturday night in Pittsburgh, as senior guard Trevor Lacey beat the buzzer to end the first half in their upset bid.

The Wolfpack already possessed a one-point lead headed into the first half’s final seconds, when Lacey pulled up for a deep three to end the half.
Lacey, North Carolina State’s best player, already had five points prior to the dramatic three-point basket, ended the half with eight of the Wolfpack’s 32 points.
The Wolfpack led Villanova 32-28 at half, as North Carolina State tries to give Villanova just its third loss of the season.
The Wolfpack came into the game 21-13. If the Wolfpack hold on, Villanova would be the first one-seed to lose in this year’s tournament.
