Oregon State pitcher Drew Rasmussen went out on Saturday and threw the first perfect game in the history of the program
History in the sport of baseball is something that is more cherished than a lot of things in sports, and on Saturday in the college baseball world, Oregon State pitcher Drew Rasmussen provided the game with some history of his own.
In the series-clinching game against Washington State, Rasmussen took to the mound and pitched what would most certainly be the game of his life, and he recorded the school’s first perfect game in the process.
Rasmussen went out and mowed down the batters in front of him with relative ease, and after the amazing feat was accomplished, he was not immune to some ribbing from his teammates, who were proud of what their starter had done on this March Saturday.
Of course, though, no one was prouder than Rasmussen’s family, who were there to take in every pitch of Oregon State baseball history.
When it was all said and done, Rasmussen ended up striking out 10 batters on 103 pitches. Oregon State took the game against the Cougars, 3-0.
