While the game ultimately turned into a decent-sized blowout, the Bearcats tested Kentucky early. With 3:43 left in the first half, Cincy led the game, 24-21. However, the Wildcats went on a 10-0 run to end the half and picked up right where they left off in the second half en route to handle the Bearcats.
The victory sends Kentucky to its fifth consecutive Sweet 16.
Kentucky will take on the winner of Sunday’s matchup between West Virginia and Maryland.
Kentucky is now just four games away from a perfect 40-0 season and it’s hard not to like them to pull off that feat after their performance Saturday.
The Bearcats gave Kentucky all they had, yet it simply wasn’t close to being enough. The Wildcats were too big, too fast and too skilled for their opponent, which has been a theme for them all season long.
The winner of Maryland-West Virginia will surely have their hands full in the next round.
