The most watched league game of the year is underway in the Camp Nou
Excitement was at an all time high before kickoff today due to the fact this El Clasico has massive implications on the La Liga title. Barcelona went in to the game one point ahead of their arch rivals, knowing a win would give them a gigantic advantage with only 10 games remaining in the league.
Barcelona have been in some inspired of late, not least of all when they came up against Premier League champions Man City in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalan club dispatched of City with little difficulty, and at times looked to be back at their all time best.
Real Madrid haven’t been in great form, with a lost of pressure being put on the shoulders of manager Carlo Ancelotti. Rumors have escalated that a negative result today might see the Italian lose his job. However the media are often over the top when it comes to Real Madrid.
One thing that’s not in doubt is that this game is one of the most popular fixtures in world soccer, with over 400 million people watching this fixture last year. The world holds it’s breath to see how it plays out.
