Introducing the Philadelphia Eagles – the all-injury team

Walter Thurmond
To be completely honest I forgot about Walter Thurmond.
Signed by the New York Giants last offseason, Thurmond was supposed to bolster Big Blue’s secondary. Unfortunately, like much of his career, he was sidelined.

A torn pectoral muscle after Week 2 forced the Giants to place Thurmond on season-ending injured reserve.
Thurmond was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2010 and contributed in dime packages during the 2013 run to the championship. So, he must have stayed healthy for most of that time, right?
Not a chance.
Out of a possible 80 games in his career, the former Seattle cornerback has only played in 36 (which includes a four-game suspension) – and this guy is currently number-two on the cornerback depth chart for the Eagles.
Byron Maxwell is currently the top corner on the depth chart. There’s no question his massive $25 million guaranteed contract will be tough to live up to after life without the Seattle defense surrounding him.
At least we know he’ll play. Chip severely needs to solve the cornerback depth on this team.
