In Jim Boeheim’s daughter’s high school basketball game, she was heckled by students with chants about her father.

Albert Magnus high school in New York Friday night was blown out by Jamesville-DeWitt high school in a playoff game between the two girls basketball teams.

Jim Boeheim’s daughter, Jamie, is a freshman that plays for Jamesville-DeWitt, and when she checked in late in the game, Albert Magnus fans chanted harshly about her father.

According to Syracuse.com, when Jamie Boeheim checked into the game, students chanted, “Where’s the cheater?” This was until Boeheim scored a basket which shut them up pretty quickly. Jamie said she didn’t hear the chant, but she did hear some students yell out her name in an unkind way.

“I just try and block out everything,” Jamie said. “I’m a Boeheim so I’m expecting some, but I just ignore it.”

Jim Boeheim and the Syracuse Orange were given penalties by the NCAA after the NCAA found that academic fraud has been committed for the past decade because Boeheim has not promoted an atmosphere of compliance. On March 6, the NCAA suspended Boeheim for nine ACC games, took away 12 scholarships and ordered that 108 wins be vacated as a result of a multiyear investigation into the university’s athletic programs. Boeheim denies these charges and will appeal them.

Boeheim also plans to retire in three years after talking with the Syracuse chancellor. Boeheim has been coaching the Syracuse Orange since 1976 and has one NCAA championship in 2003 when Carmelo Anthony played for the team. Boeheim had 966 wins before 108 wins were vacated, likely costing him a chance at getting to the milestone 1,000 official wins.
