The Notre Dame Fighting Irish punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 on Saturday night after a hard win over Butler
Well after what was a pretty exciting day on Saturday, we now know half the field of the Sweet 16. To cap off the night, though, Notre Dame gave us a night to remember when they punched their ticket.
The Irish went into Saturday night against No. 6 seeded Butler and this game was everything that we thought it would be and then some. Both of these teams played their hearts out, but as we know in sports, only one team can come out in the end, and that team on Saturday night was Notre Dame.
This one would go into overtime after what was a pretty wild ending to regulation. But in the overtime period, the Irish found some new life, took over and now they’re heading off to the Sweet 16 to continue their pursuit of a national title.
With that said, here’s a look at the updated bracket with half of the Sweet 16 now set.
So that’s the field for the Sweet 16 so far after the Notre Dame win, and the rest will be figured out on Sunday with the playing of some pretty awesome match ups.
