You can follow along with tonight’s second round game between the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and UConn lady Huskies.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have a long basketball history. And for much of that recent history includes getting their clocks cleaned against the UConn Huskies in women’s basketball.

UConn enters the game 33-1, having defeated opponents by an average of 42.5 points per game. So it doesn’t look promising for Rutgers, who is familiar with UConn having played them twice annually in the old Big East and last year in the American Athletic Conference.

Rutgers is 22-9 on the season, including an impressive 10-4 road record. But they only average 68.8 points per game against a team which gives up less than 48 a game. Meanwhile the Huskies average just shy of 90 per game offensively.

It may not be close but coach Vivian Stringer hopes that their familiarity with Geno Auriemma’s team breeds some contempt–the kind which leads to inspired play and perhaps the biggest upset in sports this side of “The Miracle on Ice”.
