Adrian Peterson’s agent says Minnesota Vikings are not the right fit
Adrian Peterson’s agent tells NFL Nation source that he doesn’t think Minnesota is the right fit for his client.
Adrian Peterson’s agent declared that he doesn’t think “it’s in Adrian’s best interests to play in Minnesota.” In a statement made to Keith Seifert, an NFL Nation columnist, Ben Dogra, Peterson’s agent, thinks it’s time for the two parties to go their separate ways.
Dogra has been silent throughout the entire three months that rumors have been circulating about the topic of Peterson’s departure from Minnesota, but he finally spoke out about it Monday evening. The statement doesn’t come as that much of a surprise though, as Peterson hasn’t been as quiet on the issue. Apparently, recently appointed Chief operating officer, Kevin Warren, for the Vikings is the problem. Warren was reportedly plotting against Peterson during his legal troubles this past season. So it is easy to see why Peterson doesn’t want to play for an organization that involves him.
But the Vikings want Peterson back. After all, who wouldn’t want the veteran running back who has totaled over 10,000 yards and 86 touchdowns in his 8 year career in the NFL.
"“The bottom line is Adrian is an important part of the Minnesota Vikings,” the Vikings’ co-owner and president, Mark Whilf said. “He’s represented us on and off the field. We’re getting ready for the 2015 season and we fully expect him to join his teammates and be a part of what we feel is going to be a great season ahead.”"
Wherever Peterson lands should be interesting as it will have an immense impact on the Vikings and any team he potentially could land. He has been one of the most sought after running backs this off-season. It seems that the Adrian Peterson drama will continue until Peterson and the Vikings work something out.
