The Houston Texans might be appearing on HBO Hard Knocks this year, as the hunt to find a team begins to narrow.
HBO Hard Knocks is one of the more controversial shows in the realm of the NFL, as teams do not want to be on it — for the most part — and the league has gone to basically forcing teams to appear. For what it’s worth, no team that has been invaded by HBO cameras during training camp have gone on to win the Super Bowl, so that might have something to do with it.
That won’t stop some teams from trying to get their brand out there.
According to John McClain from the Houston Chronicle, Texans owner Bob McNair noted that his team could appear on this season of HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Bob McNair said Texans may appear on Hard Knocks. “It’s something we’re considering, but I haven’t decided," he said today.

This comes a day after the Cleveland Browns were named in reports about appearing on Hard Knocks this year.Nothing has been confirmed and no one team has been identified as being on the show as of now. The Houston Texans provide an interesting option though, as the team is a Super Bowl caliber squad with a young quarterback, an MVP defensive end, a second-year head coach cut from Bill Belichick’s cloth and a former No. 1 pick trying not to be a bust in his second year.
There is a lot going on in Houston that could work for them on Hard Knocks and make the show interesting, but then again you never want to have distractions in training camp as throwing off your season is easier than you’d think.
